Rob: I signed up got Boiler service some weeks ago on my current email address. British Gas are using an old email that should not be linked to the new account. As a result I cannot access the old email account to set up a boiler service. British Gas said that you would look into this within 2 weeks. I would remind you that you are breaching data protection laws – but as importantly I need a remedy so tht my current email address can be used to set up a Boiler Service. When will this be?

Oliver: Okay why are we breaching date protection laws sorry? what date protection law would that be booking. In regards to the email if you change your email and already have an online account it is your responsibility to log in and go to settings to update the email but if you do not want to do this/ can not do this I will contact our online support team and have them do this now. May I have your full name, postcode and the first line of your address please?
Rob: You should not be accessing old records or even holding them. The last agent two weeks ago said he’d sort this. Nothing has happened.
Oliver: Okay I am unsure what you mean by keeping records but I can assure you no laws have been breached. Just google search the laws on this and you will see that clearly :). Thanks a lot. They will be delete the old email so you can set up an account using the new one. Take care and have a lovely day 🙂
